Welcome to the K2RUM website.
This site is dedicated to the Caterham Seven I have owned since new in 1993. Starting life a a Seven HPC Evolution in 1993, the car has been extensively improved and modified such that only about 40% of the chassis, the lower steering column. cylinder head and the differential casing remain from the original car.
Based upon recent power plots for the engine, the car now boasts a power to weight ratio of 619 bhp per tonne, which when put in perspective against other exotica gives you an idea of just how fast this car is.
K2RUM 619 Bhp/tonne McLaren F1 550 Bhp/tonne Bugatti Veyron 529 Bhp/tonne Ferrari Enzo 483 Bhp/tonne Caterham R500 465 Bhp/tonne (actual) Ford GT 463 Bhp/tonne Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 384 Bhp/tonne
Acceleration to 140mph is a completely seamless shove in the back, due to the sequential gearbox, which allows full throttle gearshifts (i.e. without lifting your foot from the throttle pedal, or using the clutch) on an average 0.09 seconds.
The car runs on to 159mph, the highest recorded speed ever for a Caterham Seven, so this is the fastest Caterham in the UK. Its a real car, which is both reliable and economical to own compares to a supercar.

"Fast car. Not necessarily the best sprint car; not necessarily the best drag car: just plain, simple across-the-board fast. And road legal with it!" |

Most who get the chance to be a passenger in this vehicle walk away which a big grin, normally stating that its the fastest thing by far they have ever been in. These are not ordinary people, but people already owning exotica like Ferraris, Lambo's etc. The owner of a well known track day company was also short of words to describe the cars acceleration.
